In the ninth year of our magazine, we recall with certain nostalgia the great effort exerted in bringing out the first editions which thanks to our sponsors and to you, dear readers, have allowed us to offer you every four months during nine years, up-to-date and selected information on the Peruvian Paso Horse. The road covered, which in itself is already a long journey, began as a Chinese proverb says: “with the first step'. It is a satisfaction for us to have reached the point we are now at but we are aware that we still have a long way to go. This magazine, and we say this with great humility, reaches all America and great part of Europe, contributing towards the diffusion of the breeding and nourishing the aficion of this noble animal.

A sample of the growth by its own merits of the ever increasing aficion for our horse, was the National Show of Salta, in the sister republic of Argentina, where we were able to witness not only the presence of owners of Peruvian Paso Horses but also a great number of aficionado spectators who in a truly remarkable manner filled with warmth the best moments of the Show in this beautiful city. In this edition we offer you the contribution from our friends in Salta, publishing two articles of great interest for our readers.

Mirko Costa, friend and great collaborator of the magazine, presents us with an interesting article on the history of training. Mirko's great aficion makes of him an expert ever willing to transmit his remarkable knowledge to the whole world.

We wish you all a happy 2004. We congratulate all breeders for the goals accomplished. We thank the support from our readers, made manifest through countless e-mails with their suggestions, the joy of their achievements; with the collaboration of sharing their best photos and with all the congratulations for this magazine...those give us invaluable encouragement.
